Unicontrol - a driving force in the development of machine control for backhoe loaders

Huddig has for several years worked to facilitate the development of machine control for backhoe loaders. Unicontrol has played an important part in the development and is the first supplier to find a solution for the elegant function. This has been a big challenge in the past because it is an axis that only is to be found on HUDDIG machines.  

“Since the need is great and the market has demanded a system for HUDDIG, we have chosen to collaborate with several suppliers of machine control. Many of our customers have several different machine types in their machine park and may have already chosen a system that they want to stick to, while those who drive only HUDDIG machines may have other requirements in their investment. The fact that we collaborate with different suppliers allows our customers to choose the system that best suits their needs, says Daniel Myrgren, marketing, and sales manager at Huddig AB.     

The companies that develop machine control systems work in different ways and have different inputs on platforms and solutions. The challenge of developing a system for machine control for a HUDDIG is to combine the digging unit and the loader as well as the boom and the elegant function that turns the digging stick. This gives more axes to consider. In all solutions that have been developed, the integration is partly based on Huddig's sensors that are already available for purchase with the machine in RAIL design.    

“We are very pleased that Unicontrol has come up with a system that was ready for delivery already in the spring of 2021. Unicontrol is actively working to drive the development forward, which we are positive about”, Daniel concludes. 

The system is available for purchase via Huddig dealers, L5, or Unicontrol dealers.
