About the Sea Rescue Society:
The Sea Rescue Society is involved in about 90% of all sea rescues in Sweden and receives no government subsidies. The Swedish Sea Rescue Society is financed through membership fees, donations, and gifts. Thanks to 2500 volunteer sea rescuers, rescue is always available 24 hours a day along the Swedish coast and on the Great Lakes. Today, The Sea Rescue Society has about 260 rescue units and about 144,000 members who enable their work to save lives at sea.
