In December 2023, NTS signed a contract with FMV to extend the life of 206 and 208 tracked vehicles. Nordic Terrain Solutions is jointly owned by Svekon, Granit Teknikbyrå, Huddig, Staffare, and Swedish Power Improvement. The basic order includes 800 tracked vehicles and, in addition to replacing the engine and gearbox, tools and spare parts, driver and technician training and updating existing documentation.

Huddig has formed a company for the assignment, Huddig Custom Solutions AB (Huddig CS), which will convert 600 of the total 800 tracked vehicles in the primary order. The company has signed a lease agreement of just over 5000 square meters with Flygstaden AB in Söderhamn, Sweden, where the business will be conducted.

"The location of the premises in Söderhamn is excellent. We need a good logistics flow of tracked vehicles and materials for rebuilding. It is also close to Huddig's and Staffare's operations in both Hudiksvall and Bollnäs, which increases the possibility of using the resources available within existing operations if necessary." Lars Lindahl, Project Manager, says.

Intensive work is underway to prepare for the planned start of production at the end of 2024. Lars Lindahl is the Project Manager for the operation:

"Right now, we are in a phase where a lot is happening. Various permits must be applied while we set up routines for production flows and adapt the premises. In the long term, we expect to create around 25 jobs.

The power trains mounted in the tracked vehicles come from the same suppliers as Huddig's machines, which Lars considers a great advantage.

"Together, Staffare and Huddig have unique expertise regarding these products. It covers everything from development and material supply to building up an efficient and quality-assured production." Lars Lindahl concludes.
